Hugh E. Lucariello has an extensive and varied background from public and private sectors of the practice of law. Served a judicial clerkship in the state courts 1976-1977. He was employed by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office as supervising attorney over all juvenile matters from 1977-1981 and served as Assistant Essex County Council from 1981-1983.

While in private practice, he served as Municipal Prosecutor for Irvington, Nutley and East Hanover from 1986-2000. He has introduced various innovative procedures to reduce court backlogs and streamline court calendars that remain in use. He has successfully planned, built and managed legal practices for others and his own practice. He has managed the law practice of a politically prominent and highly visible NJ lawyer/politician. His extensive corporate experience includes representation of a sewerage authority and complex litigation. He was the lead partner in two successful NJ based law practices. He also served as an instructor for an internationally known paralegal school.

Hugh E. Lucariello was admitted to the bar in 1977 for New Jersey and US District Court, District of New Jersey; 1990 for US Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.
